BOZAR – 2014 PROJECT OF THE YEAR
HONORABLE MENTION – HISTORIC BARN REHABILITATION

This Historic Barn is located in the town of Crested Butte. It had to be strategically lifted off the ground in order to install a proper foundation. The re-constructing took place in full compliance with the town’s board of zoning and review.

In the Historic Residential Remodel Category, Marilyn and Kevin Krill received an Honorable Mention for the conversion and rehabilitation of the historic accessory building at 209 Whiterock Avenue. David Gross General Contractors, was the contractor for this project and in concert with Andrew Hadley, the architect, they were applauded for the extreme amount of time and work that they all put forth to rehabilitate this historic building. Board members felt that it was important work that if not done would have seen the building deteriorate, which would not enable generations to come to be able to admire this beauty. From its materials and design the building was probably originally constructed as a barn and later used as a garage.
